We Are One

We are all humans

On a big rock

Floating in space

With invisible borders

That only we created

We may all look different

Sound different

Act different

Have different beliefs

But one's thing for sure

We all bleed the same

We have dreams & goals

Just want to live

To survive

Live the best lives we can

Life is too short

Too precious

For the inner war we've built

Let's take off those blinders

And see each other 

For who we really are

Fighting, racism, judging and hatred

Note: This poem is what I think goes through my kitty's head. I had to change the F word into "fook" so the poem won't run the risk of being flagged and get taken down but you get the point when you read the poem. She really isn't a terror but she has her moments. I still love her. :)

You're always picking me up
Fook you
Why do you always pet me?

Why are there all these animals here?

Don't Understand

I don't understand hate
Why we let it control us
I don't understand why we hate the color of skin
When it's just skin
It's just a color
It doesn't define us
Unless we let it

I don't understand why we hate others for their religion
What others believe is not our business 
It doesn't make them bad
Unless some of them use it for hate
It's some of the people in it, not the religion

I don't understand why we judge a group of people
Instead of judging a person for their own behaviors
No one group of people is better than the other
No one group is worse than the other

I don't understand why we judge others for who they love
Does it really matter?
Does it really effect us?

I don't understand why we fight hate with violence
You can't beat hate with hate and more violence
All it does is create more hate
More violence
With innocent people getting hurt and killed
It's not the way to do things

I don't understand why we try to shut people up
Just because we don't like what is being said
It's called freedom of speech
Even if it's wrong
Even if we don't like it
Everyone has their right
To stand up and say what they want peacefully

I don't understand why we use violence in protest
It solves nothing
Only innocent get hurt

I don't understand how attacking others and property
Is supposed to solve anything
It doesn't

If we are not careful
We will have another civil war
And for what?
To prove who is better?
To try and stop the other?

I don't understand why we are full of hate
Full of anger
So ready to be violent towards one another
We can be be better than this
We ARE better than this
Hate is taught
So lets teach love, respect, understanding and compassion instead
OH MY GOD JUST STOP ALREADY

Cookie Monster

He's blue

I'm surprised he doesn't have diabetes
He has no willpower
No self control

Summer Is....

Just a little note first.....
Most of the words in this poem are not mine. The words come from random people. Here in Denver, Colorado by the art museum, one can fill out a tag saying what summer is to them. One side of the tag says "summer is" and on the other side is where one writes whatever. Then one can hang their tag on one of the ropes or tag tree for display. It's a neat display and interesting to read. A lot of them are pretty much the same sayings but some were different and unique. I got inspired to take some of those sayings and put them in a poem. A few lines towards the end are my own but for the rest I can't take credit for since they belong to the people that gave their words. One section of the poem is all from one person that put a lot on one tag. I also posted a few of photos of what the displays look like and the tags. Enjoy :)

Summer Is...
The kiss of a warm breeze, a hug from the gardens
Long lazy days
Sleeping in
Bare feet
Time with friends and family

Don't Want/Do Want

Don't want to be told to smile
To be judged
For there to be racisim around me

Junk Food

I Wonder...

I wonder what animals are thinking
When they sit there
Looking into the distance
Do they think in their language
Or in the language that they hear around them
Maybe they just see pictures in their head

Do animals know what kind are the other animals
What things are in general
Probably not if they get scared of something
Do they know we are humans
Do they dream in color
What do dogs think when we teach them things
Or any animal when we talk to them

What do they really think how their food taste (especially pets)
Or other weird things that they eat
Do they enjoy looking at the nature around them
Like we do
Do they appreciate things
Do animals think there is a God
Can they even think like that
What do they think about in general

What Is She?

She glides through the air
Above the old town
Searching for a child
For a family who needs her help

She descends when a family is in need

A few things about themselves too
She stays for a little while

With her never ending bag and talking umbrella

Furry Friends

Furry friends do so much
They make us laugh
They make us smile
They don't judge us
They just love us
Furry friends entertain us
They run around chasing nothing
Pounce at us
Play with us
Or they just sit there staring at us looking cute
Maybe plotting revenge
Furry friends like to get in the way
But never on purpose - or is it?
They try to talk to us
Thinkin' we understand them
Furry friends are soft and cuddly
Just don't squeeze them to hard - oops
They're always there when we need them
They even cuddle us to show they love us
Furry friends don't want much
Just love
Food
And lots of attention
Furry friends get into mischief
We love them
Even when we get annoyed with them
They are to cute to stay annoyed
Furry friends....just so awesome

Hate

Hate is such a strong word
Hate is dangerous
Is very powerful
It is scary
Hate makes people unhappy
Hate is hurtful
Can be evil
Hate is very damaging
Hate can also be very simple like hating to go to the doctors
Hate is....a strong word

Alzheimer

You're really nasty
Robbing people of their minds
Their memories
Not being able to remember things
Including who people are
You take away their ability
To care of themselves
Leaving them helpless
You send them into other worlds
Taking them away from reality
You make them become nothing
In the end taking them away from us
You're evil
You're the one that needs to die

Missing You

I am missing you
